What Problem are we solving?

Starting or growing a business can be a challenge for anyone, but Canadians of black ethnicity face additional challenges that impact their abilities to excel and grow their businesses. Despite Canada’s commitment to multiculturalism at all levels of government, Entrepreneurs of black ethnicity still confront more barriers in their day to day business practices compared to non-visible-minority entrepreneurs.

What the program offers

This program looks to help individuals gain an understanding of business and relevant business processes that would improve success. The programs teach the following:

 

  • How to launch a business
  • How to organise a business and understand different types of business structures.
  • Discussion of relevant tax structures that apply to various businesses.
  • Tax implication of running a business. (HST, Corporate Tax, Personal Tax).
  • Understanding Financial Statements ( I/S, B/S, C/S, R/E)
  • Understanding Payroll
